BIKERIDE

The 13th Annual "Tour of the Peanut Country" begins in the quaint downtown Gorman City Park.  Pick one of four routs of your choice that will have you traveling through the scenic farming country of Eastland County.  The scenery will generally be rolling hills and the curves along farm to market roads or shouldered state highways.  The ride will start at 8:00 a.m. with no starts later than 9:00 a.m.  The course will close at 2:00 p.m.

There will be frequent rest stops stocked with water, Gatoraid, snacks, fresh fruits and more.  Sag wagons will be available should you have any medical trouble or need medical assistance.

WALK / RUN
Youth, 5K, 10K and 15k

The Walk / Run will start at 8:05, after the bikeriders have started. There will be four routes. A Youth, 5k, 10k and 15k route. Maps and signs will show the three routes. Please signup at the registration desk before the bike ride start.

Where is Gorman

  • From Fort Worth : Drive west on I-20 to Hwy 16 Exit (Strawn - DeLeon). Go south to Hwy 8 in Desdemona. Go West to Gorman 8 miles.
  • From Austin : Take Hwy 183 North to Goldthwaite and turn North on Hwy 16 to DeLeon, then West on Hwy 6 to Gorman.
  • From Waco : Take Hwy 6 West to Gorman.
  • From Abilene : Drive East on I-20 to Eastland Exit 340, then South on Hwy 6 to Gorman

 

Registration Information

  • You may register by mail with the form by clicking Registration Form above.
  • Entry fees are listed on the form
  • Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. at the Start/Finish line in City Park
  • First 50 Pre-registered riders will receive a t-shirt along with other assorted goodies
  • Dry camping is available at the Start/Finish line
  • Nearby DeLeon and Eastland have motel and camping facilities
